1. What are Vinyl Stickers ...?
Vinyl Stickers are cut to the desired shape using a vinyl cutter/plotter which is connected to a computer. the roll of vinyl material is placed in to the cutter, and computer software tells the cutter blade what areas to cut to make the design, the excess vinyl is then removed (weeded) by hand to leave the image required. Vinyl Cut images & lettering create a professional appearance for signs, windows, cars, trucks, boats industrial & commercial equipment, in fact you can apply vinyl to any clean smooth surface, Vinyl graphics are provided on pre-spaced and pre-masked sheeting for an easy, quick and professional application.
2. Do you offer a fitting service ...?
Most of the work we are involved in is on a supply and fit basis, we are professionals at fitting vinyl to the customers vehicles, windows & signs, However, vinyl application is very simple for people with little or no experience, we will happily supply you with the requested vinyl graphics along with very easy & straight forward to follow instructions to apply your own graphics. This service can be very cost effective if you or your company are on a tight budget.
3. How long does the vinyl last ...?
It depends on the vinyl used, different vinyl's have a different guaranteed outdoor life from 1 year up to 12 years for standard colours, We use a vinyl that is rated up to 7 years for continuous outdoor life. Vinyl will last much longer if it is indoors as the harmful UV rays cannot affect the colour pigment in the vinyl.
4. Is vinyl reusable when removed ...?
Once a vinyl is applied to your surface, it is stuck for the long term, It can however be removed when needed, removing decals will cause the vinyl to stretch & tear this will leave the vinyl unsuitable to be reapplied to another surface.
5. Can you design me a custom vinyl ...?
This is where The UK Sign Company excels at what we do, we are very happy to design you a custom graphic, most people come to us with an idea or a design already on their business card, and ask us if we can make a vinyl graphic up for them, 99% of the time this is very easy and doesn't take more than a few hours to do, however the design if on a card or letterhead does have to be of a fairly good quality for us to be able to work with.
6. I've followed your fitting instructions, but have got a bubble trapped under the sticker on my car ...?
When applying vinyl, you must use a squeegee or a firm piece of plastic to squeeze out any trapped air between the vinyl and the surface, sometimes however some air may get trapped, most of it will disperse after a day or two, if after this time you still have air bubbles, take a small pin and prick the area where the bubble is and gently squeeze the air out of the hole.
7. Is vinyl weather proof ...?
Vinyl is not affected by rain, snow, hail, salt or hot or cold temperatures.
8. Can you make multi coloured images ...?
Yes, using layered vinyl colours we can make multi coloured images, however, this is considerably more expensive as there are more materials and labour involved in this process.
9. Can vinyl fit on the inside of my car window ...?
Yes, you can have vinyl graphics to fit on the inside or outside of your vehicles glass, when fitting for the inside of your vehicles window we just reverse the image.
10. Will my van graphics peel off if I wash my vehicle ...?
Car washes and pressure washers are safe on vinyl, but do take care when using high pressure hoses on the edges of the vinyl.
11. I see you sell number plates, are they only legal ones ...?
We do sell number plates, we are a DVLA approved number plate maker, we can supply you with standard legal registration plates for your vehicle we will also ask you for proof that you own the vehicle as requested by the DVLA, we are also able to make show plates, but please be advised that it an offence to drive on UK roads with anything other than a legal number plate on your vehicle and we are obliged to mention this by law.
